Baked Seasoned Tilapia with a Mixed Salad

This is a very simple baked tilapia recipe with only six ingredients but the end dish is incredibly good. Tilapia has a mild, soft flavor, which combines well with either gentle sauces, or just butter, garlic, and herbs like in this baked tilapia recipe.

Parsley is a common ingredient in many fish recipes because it goes so well and paprika adds both color and flavor to this dish. Tilapia is sometimes served with heavier sauces because its mild flavor does not clash. If you fancy a light dinner, baked tilapia recipes are a good idea because you will have enough room afterwards for an indulgent dessert! This recipe is very good for balmy summer evenings when you do not want a heavy meal.

Ingredients -
 
4 tilapia fillets
2 cloves finely minced garlic
2 tablespoons butter
¼ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon dried parsley
Salt and pepper to taste
 
Preparation:
 

Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Combine the parsley, paprika, butter, salt, pepper and garlic in a small saucepan. Heat over a low heat until the butter melts and starts to simmer. Remove from the heat and brush some of this mixture in the bottom of a shallow baking dish lined with tinfoil. Place the tilapia fillets in the butter. Brush the top of each fillet with the seasoned butter.

Bake for 12 to 15 or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. Serve with a mixed salad (mixed greens, tomatoes and scallions for example). Just about any white wine goes well with this dish. You could even try a medium sweet German wine, since the relative sweetness brings out the tilapia flavor.
